The Long Beach Courthouse is located in Los Angeles County’s South District, in an old government building constructed in 1960. Parking is available across the street, but finding a space nearby can be difficult during peak hours. Arrive early and expect to walk a little. Some of the city’s extra services might help make up for this inconvenience.
The Kid’s Place is a daycare room for court visitors. Located on the first floor, it is very convenient and safe for you to drop off your children so they can stay entertained while you conduct your business. This free service is for kids 13 and under only. They will be supervised at all times and will only be returned to the parent or guardian who dropped them off. The room is open 8:15 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 1:15 p.m. to 5 p.m. every weekday.
The court also offers a Self Help Center for anyone in need of free legal advice. The staff can provide assistance in filling out forms and gathering information for your case. If you need a referral to a private legal firm or advice on legal services, they can provide it.
The Long Beach Court is open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, except on holidays. The clerk’s office hours are 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
